2014 - My second time visiting Joan Miro's museum. Always comparing his work with my favourite Russian artist, Wassily Kandinsky.
2014 - Another Antoni Gaudi's gem, Casa Batllo. An art nouveau architecture inspired by organic forms under the sea. I was lucky to meet the person who was in charge of their instagram account so she gave me a private tour around the building and shared me some knowledge on the design process, the hidden rooms, the family who lived there, the design details and more.
2014 - I would do the craziest things when travelling alone, especially at music festivals where I'm free to roam, just me and my music.
That year at Primavera, I watched Arcade Fire (came back with a bag full of confetti), St. Vincent, Pixies (MY ULTIMATE FAVOURITE), Queens of The Stone Age, Warpaint and more. 2014 - My second favourite museum after Van Gogh Museum, Picasso Museum in Barcelona. It was so amazing I even had a panic attack at the museum. lol. And also my first time seeing a Basquiat and Banksy piece in the museum.
2014 - I returned to Barcelona in 2014 for Primavera Festival, I got a day to explore more of Barcelona and travelled 1 hour from the city to Montserrat. I was motivated to go there because of the art collection at the gallery but arrived there just to find out that they moved the artworks somewhere else. But Montserrat still blew my mind.
2014 - Musee D'Orsay visit, a walk from The Louvre to this museum that housed precious Art Nouveau sketches by Hector Guimard, some Monets, Georges Seurat pointilism paintings, Matisse and more.
2014 - Villa Savoye designed by Le Corbusier, an iconic modernist architecture located outside Paris. I had a 5 hour transit in Paris on my way to Barcelona that morning and rushed to Poissy just to get to Villa Savoye.
2013 - Being an architecture nerd, visiting Acropolis was like a dream to me. I questioned so many things in my head about the myths and the history of Acropolis. The ruins, Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike and other historical monuments on site. I visited the Acropolis museum and everything was just so surreal, stories of Poseidon, Aphrodite and more made me wonder if they were true. The things that i need to study further.
2013 - We camped in Rome! I booked a cabin on a campsite and woke up the next day with 60 other Malaysians on the campsite!! Reminds me of Ulu Langat at the time. But the city, with it's golden hue and beautiful architecture, Rome was the most Romantic city I've ever visited. I walked from Vatican City and stumbled upon vintage stores and pretty shops along the way, i allowed myself to get lost in the city, few gelatos later, I explored the alleys towards Colosseum and ended the day at Trevi Fountain.
