I flew to LA mid november for Art Basel and on Thanksgiving day I rushed back to my airbnb, packed my bag for a day trip to San Francisco just to see Frank Stella's Retrospective exhibition at De Young Museum. I bought my bus ticket on the spot and slept in the bus throughout the ride, arrived in San Francisco at 4 a.m, I had nowhere to go and there was no public transport at that hour, I sat next to few homeless people in the cold night waiting for the first train. Arrived De Young too early, the guard let me in for free and the wait was all worth it as I saw all of Frank Stella's work, he's one of my favourites. After the museum tour,I sat next to an old lady in the cafe, chat with her about how amazing the exhibition was and she asked me to visit SF MoMA. She was too nice she even offered me her scarf in case i get cold. I booked my bus to LA at 10 pm and had nowhere to go so i spent my time exploring the city and visited SF MoMA. I fell in love with San Francisco's architecture and it's just so different than LA, i regretted the short trip and wish that I had stayed longer. Craig Redman of Craig & Karl / Darcel Disappoints |
